Telehandlers

Telehandlers

At Fiddes Plant and Crane Training, we provide well-rounded plant training for machinery like telehandlers. Telehandlers play an important role on the building site – they can lift, transport and place objects we humans simply can’t. But, it’s important to have the right training in telehandler operation so you and your colleagues don’t get hurt. We provide this training to a high, accredited degree.

As an established training school, with our crane operative training courses used by many reputable businesses in Scotland, our Telehandlers course is intensive. This course can be delivered to beginners, experienced operators without formal training or as a ‘refresher’ course. The duration of the course depends on your current level of expertise, and you will receive a certification once the course is completed for legal purposes.

What does our course involve?

As per the N010 Telescopic Handler qualification guidelines, our course revolves around the practical use and understanding of telehandlers. Modules within this course could range from standard hazard awareness to operating hydraulic controls and handling pallets.

Studying the theory behind safe telehandler operation is important. When the course finishes, you will have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used, you should be able to identify major components, alongside steering and driving controls. Our students will also be able to configure the machine for travel, manoeuvring and load-handling. We teach the importance of safety checks, hazard awareness and much more.

Any good Telehandlers course must involve a practical element, complementary to our study of the theory! With Fiddes Plant and Crane Training, you also become expert in the actual operation of the machine itself. As part of our mobile plant training programme, we utilise telehandlers from known brands to train and educate our students. We have access to various popular plant brands, as we are also known for mobile plant hire. The machinery we have used in the past has been sourced from Volvo, Toyota and JCB.
